Welcome to our website !
You're visiting the very newest face of one of the oldest –and proudest organizations of its kind – Squadron A.
It all started in 1884, during the Blaine-Cleveland presidential campaign, as a mounted political club and later we became known as the New York Hussars. Shortly thereafter we were mustered into Troop A, the first cavalry arm of New York State.
Today, we have over 700 members worldwide who continue to preserve and forward the traditions, memory and contributions of Squadron A and the Horse Cavalry.
Our Foundation offers, among other things, financial support related to horse, equitation, and cavalry traditions as well as scholarships to members and their families of the 101 Cavalry.
Please spend a little time learning more about our rich history, our charitable Foundation and if you are not a member, some of the benefits of being a member and if you are interested, how you can apply for membership.
Boutez en Avant,
Robert L. McLean
