SQUADRON A MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS
Members of Squadron A Association enjoy a host of attractive benefits not unlike those offered by many of the university affiliated clubs in New York: – 28 guest rooms with private baths, a library, a solarium, a dining room that offers breakfast, lunch and dinner daily (Monday through Friday) and a full-service Pub where members meet friends for a convivial drink at the bar – where a painting of a mounted New York Hussar smiles down on them.
Our headquarters is in a beautiful nine story building conveniently located next to Rockefeller Center and steps from Fifth Avenue. In addition to our Annual General Membership Meeting (March) and the Board of Governors Dinner (May), there are several social events scheduled during the year. We host an annual outing to Belmont Track for Squadron As Day At the Races in June, and the Spring Social and Fall Fling. Theres an increasingly popular Pheasant and Skeet shoot early each year on Long Island, and our Christmas Party is one that could bring warmth even to Ebenezer Scrooges stone heart. Every April there is a moving Memorial Service at the Church of the Heavenly Rest to honor our fallen comrades and deceased family members, followed by a reception at The Leash. Add to all this the periodic socials we host to greet new and prospective members, and youll find a social event to match all occasions.
For some of our members, the most significant benefit is the reciprocal arrangements we have with like private clubs throughout the United States and around the world. We have reciprocal arrangements with some of the finest clubs in Boston, San Francisco, Baton Rouge and abroad – Bath and London, England, for example. And who wouldnt wish to visit the Royal Hamilton Amateur Dinghy Club in Paget, Bermuda?
As a member of our club or a recognized reciprocal, if you need more information on reciprocal arrangements, would like to have a current list of our reciprocals clubs, or if you have questions about in-house reservations, please contact our Executive Director, Ms. Julia Nelson, whose email is firstname.lastname@example.org, or at (212) 245-7468 10:00AM 2:00PM Monday thru Friday (no Friday summer hours), or FAX (212) 977-8972.
